Libra season is here. No more clear cut decisions. Be diplomatic as fuck. Decorate your life. Ignore your responsibilities.

It is time, Witches, in more ways than one. The autumn equinox is here, as is the foliage, and we’re moving into this next season with calm and ease. Or at least try to, anyway. You can still join tonight’s Witch Circle (6-8 pm), by the way, where we welcome autumn, do a protection spell, meditate and journal together. And we share, which is the most potent part of it all. This way for full price at £22.22 and this way for the discounted price for intentionally disadvantaged people* at £11.11. I would absolutely love to have you.

Change careers. Or partners. Or both.

Libra is not the most decisive sign and as the Sun is moving into Libra at 7.50 am today (23 September 23), prepare to be more diplomatic and indecisive than you usually are. It’s also the start of Eclipse Season as the Nodes have changed to Aries and Libra earlier this year, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Libra season encourages us to be sociable in cosy environments. Go sit in a café for hours and watch people whilst sipping on your coffee, tea or hot chocolate. (I’ll allow iced drinks, too, because against popular belief they are not just for summer.) Have a sleepover with a friend! Or a whole pyjama party!!! If we’re friends and you’re in London or close enough, you are now invited.

It’s also a fantastic time to decorate, so why not get everything autumny out and put it on display? Have nothing? Well, nature is full of treasures right now, so go out there and get some goods. Make sure you ask the tree or plant before you take anything off it (and respect a no, I promise you’ll feel it) or stick to anything dead on the floor. Your choice, but you don’t need to buy anything unless you really want to.

Your need for harmony and balance in your life and particularly in your relationships is also heightened this season. Make sure to keep your boundaries firm and don’t fall into any possible people pleasing tendencies.

Going inwards

This season is so potent because it doesn’t only give us eclipses, it also gives us all the Retrogrades. We’re in the middle of Retrograde season and it’s been a fun ride so far, wouldn’t you agree?!

Mercury and Venus are actually done with their shenanigans now, so that’s nice. Although we’re still in those shadow periods, so there may be quite a bit of integration of those valuable (and annoying…) lessons. That may feel heavy, especially if ghosts from the past have come back or relationships have ended. By the way, when I say relationships, I always mean all relationships, not just romantic ones. Just so we’re clear.

Pluto is also almost done with its Retrograde and will station direct on the 11th. Inching closer to the 20 years of Pluto in Aquarius we’ll move into soon. Observe how people (and governments!) are clinging to their power now with everything they’ve got. They know it’s over, which is why they’re doubling down. We’ll come together for radical change. Yes, you too, if you’re on the right side of history. No pressure.

Getting rid

Eclipse season is always a time when we let go, release, get rid. Of things, situations, behaviours and people. Yes, people.

Now, the first thing you’ll hopefully say goodbye to is everything that isn’t completely “you”. Drop those masks and shields (wherever it is safe, I know there are loads of situations where it isn’t) and embrace who you are. Entirely and unapologetically. And the Aries Full Moon on the 29th will help you with that. Get rid of binary thinking and get into the grey area of everything. When you do, you’ll see the whole rainbow waiting for you. Hidden pun potentially intended.

While we’re here, on the same day, Venus is squaring Uranus, which may lead to some surprises and disruptions. Most likely in your relationships and it will urge you to make a decision.

Before we’ll see the first eclipse of this season, Mercury enters Libra on the 5th, Venus enters Virgo on the 9th, Pluto stations direct on the 11th and Mars enters Scorpio on the 12th. Phew. That’s a LOT of energy shifts. This time of year is chaotic, what can I say. Things will become more intense, there may be some arguments in the cards and you may feel a little depleted. So take good care of yourself and for once, because it’s Libra season, I will allow the bubble bath as a form of self care. Just make sure it’s not the only thing you do and that you have a support network. If you don’t, start building one. Almost all my friendships have started on the internet. And I’m talking CLOSE friendships, nothing superficial in my world anymore. You’ll find your people, too.

Theeen on the 14th, we’ll have our first eclipse. This solar (or new moon) eclipse is in Libra, it is exact at 6.59 pm UK time and it’ll help us harmonise our life. If only it were that easy. As much as these lunations are supporting (and sometimes downright forcing) us to change, we have to do the thing to finish it all. To see it through. If you’ve been waiting for a reckoning in one or more of your relationships, it’s probably around this time. Treat this new moon like a full moon. Don’t set intentions, create rituals around letting go and have those really tough conversations. It might hurt, but it’ll be so worth it in the end. And if you’re lost on how to ritualise something or want me to do a ritual for you, make sure you’re on my Instagram Stories around the eclipse.

The end of it all

In the final throws of Libra season, on the 22nd, Mercury will enter Scorpio intensifying the energy around and between us. Buckle up.

Before that, on the 9th and the 21st, respectively, we’ll have seen Mars, Mercury and the Sun square Pluto. This will bring some tensions, which will seep into Scorpio season as well. As usual, there is nothing to be afraid of, but these are probably good days to take it slow and just flow with things. Be accepting of how they are. You may feel erratic and irritated and unable to communicate clearly when it comes to things that really matter to you. You won’t have patience for the superficial. I never do, but apparently it’s a thing, so I thought I’d mention it.

This time of year is also usually very hectic, so PLEASE cut yourself some slack. Absolutely nothing is worth your burnout. Nothing and nobody, I promise you. The intense feelings and interactions and the busy-ness of life may overwhelm you. Try and find pockets where you can take a deep breath. 30 seconds if that’s all you’ve got. You’re not failing. You’re just existing in a system that wasn’t built with humans and connection in mind. It won’t get us down. Keep holding on.

Stay magnificent. Stay witchy.
