One of those metal vintage microphones standing on a flat surface. The lighting is light purple with a spotlight in the top left corner in the background. White writing on a half transparent petrol background: Start talking.
This is not an encouragement to start a podcast, at least not if you’re a cis man. If you are a cis man reading this, let me tell you this: Take the microphones away from your fellow cis men because they’re doing more harm than good. To everyone else: Go ahead, podcast away. But this? This is not about podcasts. This is about Gemini Season.
Mercury rules
I can hear you screaming! What do you meeeaaan? Mercury has just returned from its whole Retrograde and shadow business, WHY DO YOU MENTION IT AGAIN? Well.
Mercury rules Gemini (and Virgo) and therefore rules this season. Think intellect, communication (hello, technology!) and speed. Think mind, reason, language. Think… thinking. With that energy, Gemini brings curiosity, charm, quick wit, versatility, playfulness as well as anxiety, overthinking and indecision. Gemini energy loves intellectualising everything – including feelings, so that may come across as distanced and reserved. Well, dear Geminis reading this: WHO CARES!
Uranus, Uranus, Uranus
So, the Sun entered Gemini on 20 May 2024 at 2 pm BST. Great. This is how it works. Sun moves on, new season. So far, so good. But at the time of writing (about a week before the season starts), my subconscious was – quite literally – screaming at me: URANUS!!! In this half awake, half asleep state in the morning, it was all I could hear. Uranus. Uranus. Uranus. Wow.
And there are conjunctions going on. Uranus was Cazimi (in the heart of the Sun, how poetic!) on the 13th and Venus joined the party and was conjunct Uranus on the 18th. That’s a lot of Uranus energy! A lot of slow and steady change. A lot of looking at things differently. Things that you may have taken for granted or “always done this way”. Time to no longer do that.
Mercury will then be conjunct Uranus in this season, on the 31st. Time to become more curious, more sociable, more talkative. And find ways to change it all up, to bring about change with your voice. How about shouting some chants at the next march for Palestine or Sudan? We need more voices!
This whole Uranus malarkey also very much paved the way for the #BlockParty on social media; most prominently on Instagram and TikTok. People blocking celebrities to cut them off from income after watching the Hunger Games live on TV with the fucking Met Gala whilst our money kills people abroad. Finally, the world seems to be waking up. Keep that momentum going.
Did somebody say… wisdom?
The Full Moon in Sagittarius is on the 23rd at 2.53 pm BST. Inviting us to let go of anything that doesn’t expand our minds and worldviews. Our beliefs and philosophies. Anything that stands in the way of listening to our intuition. (Hint, hint, go join The Intuition School here, we start on the 30th!) Take this opportunity to look back at the New Moon in Sagittarius six months ago. What intentions did you set? How have your priorities changed since then? Are you happy with it all?
On the 6th, at 1.38 pm BST, we’ll have the New Moon in Gemini. A fantastic time to set intentions around speaking your truth and trusting your voice. Around practising to speak from your heart and not let the world’s negative influences get in the way. Want to connect to your friends and loved ones more? This new moon will help you accomplish that.
Make it BIGGER
Venus and Mercury will join the Gemini party on the 23rd (yes, that’s a busy day!) and the 3rd, respectively. Think flirting and socialising and enjoying it all. Asking all the questions, being curious and loving life, loving connections.
And theeen comes Jupiter on the 26th, blowing things out of proportion! Jupiter changes signs once a year, so we get to enjoy this Jupiter in Gemini energy until early June next year. All the things I have mentioned about Gemini here? Think bigger and better. With more room for growth, with more optimism, with even more talking and even more curiosity. Definitely also a time for learning. Learning to communicate, to trust your voice (again, I know, it’s like it’s a whole theme?!) and, hopefully, to set some boundaries around it all.
We’re at the end, I’ve been writing and creating for about six hours straight. Here’s your gentle reminder that your life comes with free will and you don’t have to rely on the stars to guide (or ruin) your life. You can do that all by yourself; taking astrology as a tool, not gospel.
Stay magnificent. Stay witchy.
