Close up of rain pouring down a window; the bckground is blurred and black and white, so you can’t really see through the glass. White writing on half transparent petrol background says Cry it out

Crying is a good thing

The amount of people who still feel shame or embarrassment for crying is too high. Tap deep into your feelings this Cancer season.

As you’re reading this, the Sun has just moved into Cancer, joining Venus and Mercury. Mars is still hanging out in Taurus, so we won’t focus on that toooo much. It’s also the Summer Solstice (in the Northern Hemisphere) today, so that’s exciting with Mercury sextiling Mars in less than 24 hours. You’ll find the words and ideas from your heart and you’ll make whatever you start last as long as it keeps being rooted in your heart.

Moon stuff

The Full Moon of the season is in Capricorn, at 1°07’, on 22 June and is exact at 2.08 am BST. Look back at the New Moon around the start of the year and the intentions (or resolutions 🙄) you’ve set. Where are you on that journey now? Which new priorities have emerged? Is there anything to celebrate?

Capricorn tells us to get on with it, not bring emotions in and keep working. Sometimes, that is actually needed to get something done. Other times, this approach can be harmful. So look at the area of your life that needs work and determine how you can bring some loving discipline into it that doesn’t burn you out. Fucked up this full moon? Well, you’ll have a second chance on 21 July at 11.17 pm BST, which is when the SECOND Full Moon of the season is in Capricorn at 29°08’. Enjoy!

The New Moon in Cancer is on 5 July 2024 at 11.57 am BST, at 14°23’. The reason I’m always giving you the exact degrees is so that you can look at your own chart and see if you have anything in that sign at (or close to) that degree. If you do, you’ll probably feel this more than other people. This particular new moon will be pretty much conjunct my ascendant, so that already sounds like fun. 😀

Intuition coming in hot

With half the planets and their grandmas being in Cancer, you get to experience more sensitivity, more emotions and, YES, more intuition. Or… a better connection to your intuition. If ever there was a GREAT time to hop on the Intuition Power Call with me, it is Cancer season!

Venus

Venus in Cancer is easily hurt and super sensitive. In love, this means tenderness as well as caution; you may get burnt. This also brings a very nurturing energy to all of your one-to-one relationships. Don’t let anxiety run the show, bring your intuition on board and follow that instead.

On 11 July, Venus moves into Leo and your heart will open up WIDE. You’ll be happiest when you’re in love! With a romantic partner, with your friends or with an idea! Think romantic gestures, loving being the centre of attention and fierce loyalty. If you’re looking for some flirt action or a new partner, you will massively benefit from the magnetic energy of this transit.

Mercury

Mercury in Cancer brings intuitive instead of rational thinking, which is a welcome change after being very much in your head with everything in Gemini the past few weeks. What can also happen during this time, though, is that you start ignoring facts that conflict your feelings. Tap into your past and the mistakes you made when this happened and that may just cure you from this hiccup. Learning through experience is the one when Mercury resides in Cancer, so if you’re trying to learn something new, make sure you apply the knowledge right away to let it settle.

On 2 July, we’ll see Mercury moving into Leo. The way you express yourself may change to forceful and dramatic. You’ll command respect when you step into your authority and speak from that place. And try not to be too rigid in your opinions. At the very least listen. Unless they’re advocating for genocide, in which case obliterate them. Verbally. 👀

Mars

Mars is the odd one out because it moves more slowly and is now only in Taurus. Things have to be done your way or not at all, but please also without any sign of a fight because that would mean more effort. Whatever you’re doing may have started slow, but once it has, there is no stopping the momentum. Keep going! When you’re provoked, Mars in Taurus will get your powerful temper OUT there. Use it with caution. Things like arguing with strangers on the internet are usually in vain.

Your opinion on that may change when Mars moves on into Gemini on the 20th of July. Words are suddenly your weapons and it’ll be hard to focus with your energy scattered in all directions. But! It’s not as bad as those seven months when Mars in Gemini was Retrograde, so there’s that. Mars in Gemini is a great time to initiate change, though. Use that restlessness and channel it into something new.

Retrogrades!

We’re in full on Retrograde season (Pluto anyone? 🙄) and now we’re gonna go a little deeper. Disclaimers: Planets don’t go backwards; they appear to us from Earth to go backwards. What really happens is that celestial bodies all have different speeds and these vary over time, too. Which is a great metaphor for our lives. We need to slow down sometimes, go inwards. That’s how we find our intuition as well as our humanity. Maybe tell some others to go inwards as well… Anyway, who’s joining the Retrograde chat this season?

Saturn

On the 29th, Saturn – still in Pisces – stations Retrograde. Saturn is the grandpa of the zodiac and Pisces is your subconscious, your dreams, anything under the surface. These two energies work together surprisingly well. Saturn in Pisces increases your tolerance for others’ shortcomings and makes you more compassionate. Just make sure you don’t tolerate everyone’s bullshit and be pushed around. Saturn here can bring peace and quiet and therefore peace of mind, but only if you’re willing to set boundaries and protect your energy.

How to figure out which boundaries to set and who or what is draining your energy? Well, how about a little Retrograde situation? This is the absolutely PERFECT time to figure these things out. Go inwards and ask for support. Remember the grandpa association? Yeah. Get your ancestors involved. Those who are still here and those who have passsed on. Ask for support and guidance. Any other wise people in your life? Ask them, too. You deserve being supported and loved. Once you got it all figured out, set those boundaries and spend less time with the energy vampires.

Neptune

Neptune follows Saturn on the 2nd. Where is Neptune, the ruler of Pisces? Also in Pisces. All that subconscious energy is trying to kill us. But together with Cancer, it’ll tap you right into your intution some more. So you win some, you lose some. Neptune in Pisces makes you selfless (sometimes to the point of self-sacrifice) and love serving others. Generally great characteristics. Again, though, if you constantly give, give and give, you WILL burn out. Your body WILL give up eventually. Sooo…what do you need? That’s right. Boundaries.

What is a great time for that? Exactly right. A Retrograde. Neptune in Pisces takes us inwards already, so this Retrograde may take you inwards inwards. So deep you may believe the illusions you’re being fed in the media and in the collective consciousness. On the other end of the spectrum, you may just see through all of it now. Show yourself compassion, affirm those boundaries and tap in. If it’s safe and you’re able to do it, let your subconscious take over completely for a day or an hour; whichever timeframe is most accessible to you. See what happens. Maybe you want to try lucid dreaming and get some blue lotus to help. Or tap into your feelings in some way. In community or on your own. With some herbs to help you or just some mindfulness exercises. Whatever floats your boat basically.

What to do with all of this information?

As always, this is just general guidance. On your own, you will get the most of all of this when you look at where these signs (Capricorn, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo and Pisces) are in your chart, i.e. in which houses. Get your chart on somewhere like astro.com, which will give you a division into houses as long as you know your birth time. Those houses correspond to areas of your life and there’s a great overview of those here. Once you’ve found all of that info, you can figure out which areas of your life are most affected by all these transits.

Want more guidance? Get your Soul Session for this season here now. Full and new moon readings are here. And ALL the chart readings right here. The next circle is for Lughnasadh on 1 August 2024 and you can book yourself in right here. I’ll see you there.

Stay magnificent. Stay witchy.
