Picture of a lake in Hamburg, part of the ground is visible in the foreground and you’re looking through the branches of a willow onto the sunset lit water. On top, there is white cursive writing on a dark teal background: Let your intuition take over.

We’re running out of time. Literally and metaphorically. I’m generally not a believer in “too late”, but if we let the world continue to evolve in the way it does now, we’ll be doomed. And asked by future generations why the FUCK we haven’t done anything to stop it. To my fellow Germans, this will sound familiar. Because it is. That’s where we’re heading and I need you to understand that.

To top it all off, the climate crisis is HERE. It has been for a long while and somehow nobody seems to care. WE HAVE TO START CARING. Today. Now. We can’t sit here and watch our home go to shit. I’ll leave you some resources to get you started at the end of the post.

Home is the theme for the new season

Look at me and how seamlessly I go from ALL OUT REVOLUTION to the current astrology. 😏 Because it is connected. Nothing exists without the other. And we’re all part of nature.

On Wednesday, at 3.58 pm UK time, the Sun moves into Cancer. Whilst Gemini brought a chatty and social season and loads of new thoughts and ideas, Cancer will only get you places and with people that feel like home. If it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it. Your intuition will be heightened this whole season and you better fucking listen.

Intuition is home. If you have a complicated relationship with your intuition, now is the time to start mending it. You’ll be much more connected, especially when Mercury enters Cancer on the 27th. The times of Mars and Venus in Cancer are long over, so don’t expect their help. They’re busy doing Leo things. In fact, Venus will stay a long arse time in Leo, with a whole Retrograde and everything. So there’s a lot of literally standing in your power in the next few months. Starting bold things to then plan them out meticulously from 10 July, when Mars moves into Virgo and brings some grounding to that fiery energy.

Back to your intuition: Get connected. Start trusting. You’ll need your intuition more and more each day from now on. Forever.

Your voice and emotions

At the time of writing this, it’s the day of the New Moon in Gemini. This one may feel heavy for anyone with Gemini placements in their charts and even more so with people who’ve got their moon in Gemini. Speaking from experience here. It’s an airy new moon that brings new thoughts, new ideas and new ways to use your voice. You may also have the urge to intellectualise your feelings. To talk them through and to write them down and share your words. (Hi! It’s me!)

But don’t mistake your voice just for your literal voice and speaking up. That is a big part (if you have a speech disability, there are ways you are using your voice in your everyday life, too) but it’s not all of it. It can be a myriad of expressions. Maybe you are a photographer, a painter, a musician, an artist, a poet or someone who expresses themselves with their work in a million other ways. Find a way in the next few days, whilst this fresh new moon energy is strong, to express yourself. To make yourself heard or to prepare for that.

It will most likely bring up some feelings. Grief. Disappointment. Guilt. Even shame. Let them come. (If they are trauma related, please tread carefully and seek professional support if you can.) CRY. For witches’ sake PLEASE cry. There is no shame in crying. None. Zero. Zilch. Go for it. Sob. Don’t know how to access the tears? For me, it works to put on a film that I know will make me cry (98% of films…) or a song. It may need recalling a memory, looking at old photos. Whatever does it, do it. Even positive tears like from those puppy and kitten videos online? They may lead you down just the right path to lose yourself in tears for a hot minute.

When you’ve processed those feelings, your voice will be stronger. You may want to use it sooner, but why not make it a habit to feel those feelings for as long as the Sun – and later Mercury – are in Cancer?! From that space, connected to your emotions and speaking your truth, it will all be so much easier come Leo season, which asks us to stand in our power. Boldly and proudly.

Summer, Witches!

Cancer season is also ringing in summer with the summer solstice (or winter in the Southern hemisphere!). Things are changing. We’re looking at the heat coming back (#ClimateCrisis, please learn about it instead of just enjoying it when so many people around the world suffer) and our drive to be outside. Or inside, if you’re like me. We’re looking at a lot of free time or a lot more things on your plate to manage, depending on where you are on your life’s path.

Take some time for yourself on Wednesday. Look back three months. Don’t buy into that half way through the year bullshit. Astrology wise, we’re three months in. The seasons agree. So look back to the end of March and what you wanted your life to be like today. In what ways do these versions of your life differ? What do you like about those differences? What (and whom) do you want to keep in your life? What do you want to change? Remember that your body’s summer ready, so that doesn’t need to be on the list.

Did anyone say… Retrograde?

Not Mercury, don’t worry. That won’t happen again until August. Saturn has just started its Retrograde in Pisces and Pluto’s Retrograde has moved into Capricorn again. My Aquarius placements FELT the shift instantly. Wow. I’ll be having a few interesting years ahead once Pluto has established its presence in Aquarius. Anyway, Retrograde Season is well and truly underway and it invites us to go inwards. To initiate – or maintain momentum of – the transformation you want in your life and in the world, what is there inside of you that needs to change? How can you prepare your life for that? How can you carve out some space and time for yourself? JUST for yourself? For those dreams to form and breathe. For them to come to life in your imagination and, eventually, in the material world. Neptune stationing Retrograde at the end of the month will support this exploration. So, if you have placements is Pisces and/or Capricorn, you’ll feel these Retrogrades.

Then, just before Leo season begins, Venus in Leo will station Retrograde and join the inwards party. If you had anything hindering your boldness and you standing in your power with love and compassion before then, that’ll be a time for you to go inwards and seek that boldness there. What you’ll find is every last obstacle. Don’t go chasing after every single one at the same time. You’ve got about six weeks to sit with them individually and invite them out in the open. Treat them as if they were your children, pets, partners or best friends. Make them an ally in your life, not an enemy.

Moon musings anyone?

As in every season, there will be two lunations in Cancer season; a new and a full moon. The Full Moon in Capricorn is on 3 July 2023 (Spot’s 13th birthday!) at 12.39 pm UK time. It invites us to look at what success means to us, what work means to us, which structures in our lives are important to us. And to let go everything that is not that. If you’re like me and you like burning shit, consider this ritual: Write down everything you want to release under the full moon on a loose piece of paper and then burn the hell out of it. Several pieces even. As it’s Cancer season, I suggest scattering the ashes in a stream or river. If that’s not accessible, you can always burn it all in your kitchen sink and watch it go down the drain afterwards. In any case: Please be safe when you burn things and obviously don’t burn shit in nature when it’s all dry and hot and may cause a wildfire. Be a responsible witch basically. Once burnt, you have to start taking action and ACTUALLY release those things in whichever way works for you.

The New Moon in Cancer is on 17 July 2023 and brings a whole lot of nurturing energy. (Not me realising I’m part of an event that day and it couldn’t be more apt!) It invites you to set intentions for your home and, yes, your intuition. Your home can be many things. It can be the roof over your head, it can be a place, it can be the people (and animals) you love, it can be your body and all of these things all at once. How can you help yourself feel good in your home? Does it really need an overhaul or just some tweaks? Like more hydration or a rearranging of existing shelves to bring some fresh energy. Like way more compassion for yourself than you’re showing yourself right now. Also evaluate what makes you feel safe. Safety is a big part of feeling home. And your intuition is a big part of figuring out if something or someone is safe for you. Listen to it, always. And…

Stay magnificent. Stay witchy.

Lots of fucks

PS: Great places to start for tackling the Climate Crisis: Read It’s Not That Radical by Mikaela Loach (affiliate link) and follow her on Instagram; she posts loads of action items in her Stories. While you’re on that app, give Resist Glencore a follow as well. There are loads of resources and information in their link. Same goes for Stop Cambo. And please, for the love of witches, don’t go into those spaces – ESPECIALLY if they’re run by Black and Indigenous people – and demand free education. Read, learn and then pay them if they offer a paid service. Or simply get involved. You don’t have to get it perfect to make a difference.
